The City
The Rocky Mountain National Park is one of the area's major draws. Hiking, snowshoeing, rock climbing, ice skating, camping, horseback riding, photography, and scenic drives are just some of the activities in which visitors to this national park can partake. Even though the city is also home to shopping, museums, restaurants, spas, and live entertainment, the wilderness can spill into the streets, with wild animals like elk regularly making their way into the urban area.
Do & See
Outdoor activities are the primary sources of entertainment for visitors with the Rocky Mountain National Park offering an abundance of opportunities for exploration in both summer and winter. The town of Estes is also full of life and is like living history since many of the shops and restaurants have been fixtures in the community for decades. Wherever you look, you can see the beauty of the area, from the construction and building materials to the surrounding mountains.
Dining
Several restaurants in the area have dishes that feature the wild game abundant in the area, like bison and elk. American fare is the standard but not necessarily the norm. There are also Mexican, Italian, and a variety of Asian-style restaurants in the area.
Cafés
"Getting away from it all" doesn't mean you have to completely unplug. Many cafés offer free WiFi as well as an eclectic array of dining options. Enjoy a fresh cappuccino while catching up on morning emails and surveying the nearby mountaintops.
